The Apres Bain (After the Bath) terry cover-up is sweet and simple to make. Wear it from the shower or from the pool. Either way, with a pretty print, you will move confidently in this smart little cover-up made from towels. This pattern was issued in a complementary packet of patterns and instructions to adapt patterns (such as Vogue, Simplicity or McCall's) using Fieldcrest® towels, sheets, bedspreads etc. Though the bold prints and patterns from the mod era are no longer produced, a more classic version could be made from plush solids with embroidered trim.

Part Three - Free Patterns From Fieldcrest®

This easy to make children's shoulder button pullover dress could easily be adapted to fit mom as well. What an easy breezy summer sundress and no better material than a terry cloth towel to absorb moisture on a hot sunny day at the beach or pool. This pattern features Fieldcrest® towels and was published in the 1960's as a complementary sewing packet to encourage sewists to use Fieldcrest® towels, sheets, bedspreads and other linens. And why not! The printed towels of the mod era ranged from bold abstract patterns to lovely florals, sure to please any taste.

"Make It With Towels" and "Make It With Sheets" were publications from the Educational Department of Cannon Mills, Inc. Published in the late 1940's through the early 1970's, these booklets included patterns and decorating ideas using Cannon linens. This Pretty Party Apron pattern, from a late 1940's or early 1950's (these were not dated) "Make It With Towels" booklet, includes directions to make this apron from two Cannon towels. Download HERE.
